Knossos is the largest Bronze Age archaeological site on Crete and the Palace of Knossos became the ceremonial and political center of the Minoan Civilization. Knossos was the greatest and most powerful city in Minoan Crete, it was the capital of Minoan Crete and the legendary Minoan Dynasty. The impressive 22.000 square meter palace had 1500 rooms which were made using a variety of building materials and stones, a plethora of colors, and famous frescoed walls.It also had a large stone-paved central courtyard, a theatre, workshops, storage areas or magazines, and a water management system.
The palace of Knossos is located 6 km SE of Heraklion, among olive groves, vineyards, and cypress trees. The Archaeological Museum of Heraklion is the museum in which the Minoan civilization is presented almost in its entirety. It is one of the largest and most valuable museums in Greece and one of the most important in Europe It is located in the center of the city of Heraklion.

Pick up from Knossos Palace and drive to Archaeological Museum of Heraklion. Visit the Museum for 1 h. Walk to the center of Heraklion for 1 h.
